National Police have detained nine people and seized 27 kilos of cocaine in the latest drugs bust.
The drugs network was highly organised and divided into several independent units.
One group was responsible for introducing drugs into Spain for onward shipment, cannabis going on to northern Europe, mainly Holland, and cocaine heading for Cataluña and Ibiza.
The cocaine was smuggled into Spain from Brazil using elderly passengers on a cruise ship who were posing as tourists.
Another group, headed by a Dutch national, ran a hydroponic cultivation centre in Barcelona, marijuana being the crop.
A third group was responsible for various auxilliary activities, such as robberies, kidnappings and racketeering.
