A joint operation by police and customs officials has resulted in the seizure of 1,910 kilos of hashish at El Saladillo beach in Estepona.
The drug smugglers operated out of Manilva and Sotogrande, bringing drugs into Spain either by air or sea in Málaga and Cádiz provinces. Having managed to ascertain when the gang had planned to bring in their next shipment, the authorities were able to catch the gang in the act of bringing their cache ashore.
Thirteen people have so far been arrested, and in raids on five properties, police have seized computers, five vehicles, €75,000 in cash and various documents. In addition, a total of thirteen bank accounts have been frozen.
