Maritime Rescue and Navy vessels are involved in a search for a crew member missing from the boat ‘Betelgueuse’, a participant in the XXXII Mar de Alborán regatta.
The boats set out from Málaga on Friday, heading for Motril before making the return journey. The search is being concentrated about 21 miles off the coast at Almuñecar, Granada province.
Twenty-five boats set out at the start of the competition and routes chosen were varied, some meaning that the boats were out of sight of the shore for several hours.
