World number one Rafael Nadal recaptured the Rome Masters title from Novak Djokovic with a straight-sets win in Sunday’s final at the Foro Italico, the score 7-6 (7-2) 6-2.
Nadal is now unbeaten on clay in 30 matches. Nadal’s victory over the defending champion also means that, as from May 10th, Britain’s Andy Murray takes over the number three position in the rankings.
