The mother whose six year old son was taken into care after he was found to have been left alone in an apartment for two weeks has been released on bail.
Latifa El Barrahi, charged with abandoning the child, told the court that she left the boy in the care of a neighbour at her home in Córdoba while she went back to Morocco. She said that the neighbour then also departed, leaving the six year old on his own.
This is not the first time Latifa El Barrahi has been involved in court proceeding relating to abandonment, the last time being in 2006.
Her six year old son remains in the care of the Junta de Andalucía.
