The Junta de Andalucía has apparently confirmed its committment to the building of a marina on the Torrox-Nerja border and is now awaiting the completion of the necessary environmental study.
The study should be completed during the last quarter of this year and the next step is to sort out the issues relating to the public domain and maritime boundaries.
This, in turn, means that construction of the €36 million project ‘could’ actually be started by the end of the current municipal legislature, namely 2011.
The proposed marina, sited around the Vílchez beach, will have moorings for 500 boats.
