Marbella has become the first municipality in Málaga province to introduce the possibility of submitting denuncias (complaints) via the internet.
It is hoped that the new ‘virtual office’, the website of the Delegación de Seguridad Ciudadana y Servicios de Emergencias, will save time for all concerned. The new system can be used by both resdients and tourists and the website is in five languages, Spanish, English, German, French and Italian.
Complaints about theft, loss of documents or objects, reporting abandoned vehicles etc can now be done online and there is even the possibility to consult the ‘lost and found’ section.
Any complaint, however, must be ratified, in person, within 72 hours at any of the police stations in San Pedro Alcántara, Marbella, Las Chapas or Nueva Andalucía between the hours of 08.00 and 15.00. Even with this proviso, a logical safeguard, the time saving for both the public and the police should be considerable.
