Google are never ones to be left behind when it comes to developing new, or competitive products and there is a new one on the way later this year. It is only currently in the developer preview stage, but it does look rather good.
Twitter is the current web phenomenon, growing at an incredible rate, and there was much speculation that Google would make an offer for the company. However, this doesn’t appear to have been the case. What they are now proposing, though, is definitely in that general direction.
Google Wave is a browser-based communications system, open source, which sort of combines email, messaging and a host of other functions in one package. And it is absolutely instant, you even see each character as someone types a message, no waiting.
The video demo is rather long, but the first 10 or 15 minutes will give you an idea of this new tool.
