Torrox Council has chosen to use funding available through the so-called Plan Zapatero (Fondo Estatal de Inversión Local) for a mere four projects and now, with the administrative formalities completed, work is scheduled to begin next week.
The reformation of plaza de la Constitución in the historic centre will begin next week. The company Grupo Comsa have been awarded the contract, budgeted at €935,000, and the completion time is six months.
Next up will be reformation of the promenade and seafront at Ferrara Playa, a project budgeted at €1.5 million and to be carried out by the company CHM. However, the start of this project will be delayed until after the summer season so as not to inconvenience visitors to the area.
Finally, work will start on calle Hospital and calle San José, a project budgeted at €200,000 and also to be carried out by CHM.
