A Guardia Civil patrol boat has found the bodies of a woman and a child believed to be from the dinghy which capsized on Thursday about 4 miles from the Moroccan coast as it made its way to Spain.
The rubber dinghy was carrying around 40 passengers when it left Tangier on its way to Tarifa in Andalucía. When it was intercepted by the Maritime Rescue Service, the boat had capsized. Twenty-two people were found clinging to the upturned hull but the crew of the boat reported that there had been up to forty people on board and a search of the area was started.
The two bodies were found near Punta Leona and have been transferred to Ceuta where an autopsy will be carried out.
