Málaga became a city of bicycles yesterday as it celebrated the VII Day of the Bicycle, a non-competitive event aimed at promoting the benefits of this mode of transport.
Some 6,350 people registered to take part, completing an 11 kilometre journey around the city. The youngest registered participant was a three month old baby who traveled in a sidecar attached to the bicycle and the oldest participant was an 88 year old man.
At the moment in Málaga there are two cycle paths completed, two at the tender stage and one pending and next year the organisers are hoping to change the route to incorporate these new paths.
