Two boats were intercepted yesterday south-east of Cabo de Gata, Almería, with a total of 28 illegal immigrants on board.
The first boat, with 9 passengers, was detected and intercepted by the Maritime Service patrol vessel ‘Remolcanosa cinco’. The second, detected by the SIVE surveillance system, was located and intercepted by the ‘Denébola’.
All the passengers were then transferred to the ‘Denébola’ and escorted to port where the Red Cross was on hand to give them the once over. All were said to be in good health.
