It will probably come as no great surprise that Andalucía is the Spanish region with the most unsold new homes, 104,861 to be precise.
Andalucía is followed by Cataluña with 98.363, Comunidad Valenciana with 94.230 and the Comunidad de Madrid with 51.034. At the bottom end of the scale, Extremadura has 7,424 and Cantabria has a mere 2,674.
Of the 613,512 new homes for sale in Spain, 47% are on the Mediterranean coast, again no surprise really.
At a provincial level, Barcelona leads the way with 55,315 units, followed by Alicante (46,366), Valencia (30,038), Murcia (27,279) and Málaga (21,092).
On the other hand, Teruel only has 1641 units, Soria has 1694 and Caceres has 2071.
