Access to calle Granada is restricted due to roadworks and the lower section, from Plaza Cavana to calle Animas, will be closed to through traffic for about a week according to the workmen at the site.
Having dug a huge trench, the workmen explained that they had accidentally severed a Telefonica cable. The area was temporarily without phone lines but, apparently, Telefonica were very quick on the scene to effect repairs and restore the lines.
However, the repairs themselves were of an emergency nature and they do have to be done ‘properly’ before the hole can be filled in.
