The town of Ayamonte (Huelva) now has a minority government in power after the members of the PA decided to abandon their pact with the socialist PSOE and join the ranks of the opposition.
The PA members, who formed a pact with the PSOE following the local elections two years ago, are apparently unhappy at the socialists for their repeated failures, lack of honour and for putting the interests of the party above those of the townsfolk.
One Councilor was allegedly approached with the offer that if he left the PA, joined the mixed group in opposition and then supported the PSOE in all their decisions, he would have a ‘job for life’.
The leadership of the PA in Huelva expressed their support for the Councilors in Ayamonte and their unwillingness to simply ‘go along’ with some of the practices being developed by the socialists in the town.
