The 50th anniversary of the discovery of the Nerja Caves means that this year’s International Festival of Music and Dance is that bit more special, and topping the bill are none other than José Carreras and the Catalan singer Joan Manuel Serrat.
The programme is:
- July 21 : Joan Manuel Serrat – Highly regarded singer-songwriter.
- July 22 : Miguel Poveda – Catalan flamenco singer.
- July 23 : José Carreras – The world famous singer will be performing ‘Mediterranean Passion’, a collection of 15 songs from Cataluña which he released on CD last year.
- July 24 and 25 : Soloists from the Paris Opera Ballet.
- July 26 :Sara Baras flamenco ballet company – A presentation based on the life of Juana la Loca (Joanna the Mad), the 16th century Queen of Castilla.
Tickets for the concerts, normally very scarce, are expected to be around €60…and even more scarce.
