On Friday, the Nerja Council completed the process of gaining title to the plots of land behind the old slaughterhouse in calle Ingenio in preparation for the building of the new Health Centre.
There are five plots of land, with a total area of 10,000 square metres, of which 4,000 will be transferred to the Junta de Andalucía for the building of the Health Centre.
Three of the five land owners signed the agreement on Friday, the other two, who were unable to attend that day, will sign on Monday. The owners have exchanged these plots for other urban plots elsewhere in the municipality.
There is still some way to go, though. The five plots have to be registered before they can be handed over to the Junta de Andalucía.
In the meantime, the Council is working on the proposed development of this area, which includes the construction of roads and a new roundabout in calle Puente Viejo at a cost of around €600,000. Work on this project is expected to begin ‘soon’ according to the Council.
