A 22 year old Dominican woman has died this morning, Saturday, in Fuenlabrada (Madrid) after being allegedly stabbed by her partner, a Colombian national.
Police received a call from a woman who told them: ‘I’m dying’. Local Police officers arrived on the scene within minutes and she was transferred to hospital. Although, at first, it did not seem that her injuries were very serious, the woman died just one hour later at the Hospital de Fuenlabrada.
The husband of the woman is currently being hunted by the police.
The man and woman were actually married, although the current status of their relationship is not known. A restraining order against the husband had been issued in 2007 but was lifted about five months later by order of the Criminal Court in Móstoles.
In 1999, Fuenlabrada launched a programme to counter gender violence and this is the first case to be recorded in the municipality.
