As analog tv gradually becomes a thing of the past and the country prepares for the big ‘switch off’ next year, five villages high in the mountains of Huelva have become the latest to experience the ‘analog blackout’.
From today, the inhabitants of Cumbres Mayores, Cumbres de San Bartolomé, Cumbres de Enmedio, part of La Nava and Encinasola can only watch their favourite tv programmes via TDT, Terrestrial Digital Televesion.
Encinasola is the northernmost town in Huelva province, with 1,600 inhabitants, and around 50 benefited from a Ministry of Industry scheme to provide TDT decoders in certain cases.
