Three of the survivors from the boat found on La Aceitera beach in the Zahora area of Barbate have been arrested and charged with eight counts of negligent homicide and crimes against the rights of foreign citizens.
Other survivors from the wreck identified these three people as being the organisers of the venture and they also described how these men began to push some of the passengers when the boat was just a few metres from the shore and this caused the craft to hit the rocks and overturn.
