Guardia Civil and Maritime Rescue officers carrying out a search for a missing jet ski passenger have found a body about 40 miles off the coast of Benalmádena.
On Monday, a group of people set off from Tarifa on jet skis accompanied by some friends in a boat. During their trip, two people on one of the jet skis, a youth and a 24 year old girl, lost control of their machine and fell into the sea. Friends in the boat alerted the authorities and a search was initiated in the area.
In the early hours of Tuesday morning, the youth appeared near the shore at Benalmádena, but there was no sign of the girl. The search for the missing 24 year old continued throughout yesterday, with boats and helicopters involved in the operation.
It is yet to be confirmed whether the body found by the searchers is actually that of the missing girl.
The missing girl is Noelia Pérez Pérez, a native of Baracaldo in Vizcaya. She had been working in the Maracas Bar in Puerto Marina.
