National Police officers in Málaga have arrested two people who falsely claimed to have been robbed a few days earlier.
In the first case, a 28 year old from Estepona claimed that two cars had cornered him on the way to Moral beach and the occupants forced him to hand over all his money. As he had just been paid, this was his entire month’s pay.
The police began an investigation to track down the perpetrators but soon discovered that the alleged victim was telling porkies. The victim then finally acknowledged that he had spent the money on drugs and was trying to cover his tracks.
A few days earlier, another man in Estepona, also 28 years old, informed police that his credit card had been stolen and that it had been fraudulently used by the robbers at a catering establishment in the marina area.
However, the investigation resulted in the discovery that the alleged fraudulent credit card transaction had been made by the alleged victim himself and had been for the services of a prostitute.
