The number of people injured in the bomb blast in Burgos early this morning has reached 54, although none of the injuries are serious. However, the authorities consider it a miracle that there were no fatalities in the incident.
The bomb, at least 200 kilos of explosive, was in a van which was left in an open parking area and it destroyed homes on seven floors of the fourteen floor Guardia Civil barracks in the town. Fortunately, many of the families were on vacation, otherwise the casualty list could have been much higher.
Police are still trying to confirm if the explosion is the work of ETA as no advance warning was given, something that ETA tend to do, although not always.
