This morning has seen the arrival of two more small, inflatable rowing boats off the coast near Tarifa with a total of 14 passengers on board.
The first boat, with 5 North African males on board, was detected by the SIVE surveillance system about four miles south of the Isla de Tarifa.
The second boat, with 9 North African males on board, was spotted by a passing merchant ship about six miles south of Tarifa. Both boats were intercepted by the Guardia Civil vessel ‘Alkaid’ and the passengers were escorted to port.
All the passengers were adults and are all thought to be in good health.
