A threatened strike by cleaning services in Motril, due to take place on August 10th to coincide with the feria, has been averted. A demonstration planned for today has also been called off.
The decision came after a meeting between unions, employers and the arbitration service SERCLA (Servicio Extrajudicial de Resolución de Conflictos Laborales), with the management of the cleaning company Limdeco agreeing to the demands of the workers.
The agreement safeguards the jobs of around 270 staff.
