The other day was the first time I’d seen anyone sitting, hand out, at the entrance to the church on the Balcón de Europa. What made it stand out was the fact that there was a wedding about to take place, so hope it didn’t mar the event for the happy couple.
The two women positioned themselves on either side of the entrance as the wedding guests arrived and entered the church.
As the bride and entourage arrived, they made their way amongst the group, asking for money. They did at least leave them alone when the official photos were being made, but they did resume their doorway positions as the bride and co entered the church.
