Spare a thought for the residents of Jódar in Jaén province, most of whom have been without water for 12 hours each day for the past few months. Some, however, have not had a drop of water for 60 days.
The wells in Jódar have been drying up in recent years, causing the Council to introduce dramatic cuts in supply in order to preserve what little was available.
However, there is good news on the horizon. New sources of water have been found in the subsoil and, once the quality of the water has been approved by the Ministry of Health, the situation should improve dramatically.
