Only four sets of Koala twins have ever been recorded, the last ones in Australia being 49 years ago. Until Kialla and Tahilla came along, of course. One had to be handreared as Koala mums are not really built for twins, pouch room being limited, and there was concern that one would be rejected.
After almost two months apart, the twins have now been successfully reunited and the whole family appear to be getting along really well.
Koalas look quite strange when they’re born!
