The Junta de Andalucía is launching a new campaign today raise awareness about the problems related to the consumption of immature fish.
The delegate for the Department of Agriculture, Andrés Ruiz, believes that it is important for consumers to be fully aware of the rules relating to the labeling of fish products and to adopt a critical attitude towards the consumption of fish not meeting the minimum size requirements.
The campaign will include workshops on environmental education in schools, advertising campaigns on flights and a number of other measures.
During the weekend of August 16th, booths will be set up on beaches in Calahonda, Castell de Ferro, Motril, Torrenueva and Salobreña to provide information about fishing and the consumption of fish. The booths will operate from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 17:00 to 21:00.
