Police in France have so far discovered three ETA hideouts following the arrest earlier this week of three ETA members, Alberto Machaín Beraza, Aitzol Etxaburu and Andoni Sarasola.
The first hideout was discovered in Ferrieres, about 40 kilometres from the border, and contained 100 kilos of ammonium nitrate and 12 litres of nitromethane.
The second hideout was found near Bordeaux and contained documents belonging to ETA, bomb making tools, about 10 kilos of explosives, two handguns and ammunition.
Hideout number three was discovered in Camplong in the southeastern department of Languedoc-Roussillon. Large oil drums concealed ammonium nitrate, sodium nitrate, alcohol and acetone. Also found were two handguns, 1,000 rounds of ammunition, a silencer, 83 detonators and 450 metres of detonating cord.
The caches contain enough explosive material to make dozens of bombs.
