The authorities in France have so far discovered seven ETA hideouts, the latest containing over 300 kilos of explosives.
The latest discovery was made near the town of Minerve in the French department of Hérault. In addition to explosives, police also found a number of weapons which were stolen from a French munitions factory in Vauvert in October 2006.
In one of the latest caches to be uncovered, police found a number of bombs which were ‘ready to go’. The discoveries follow the arrest earlier this week of ETA members Alberto Machaín, Aitzol Etxaburu and Andoni Sarasola, believed to be responsible for supplying weapons and explosives to ETA units, or ‘comandos’.
The authorities are hoping to find more weapons and explosives caches during the next few days.
