Rafael Nadal, playing in only his second tournament after spending two months out of the game with tendonitis in both knees, lost to Novak Djokovic in the semi-final of the Cincinnati Masters.
Nadal, who has slipped to number three in the world rankings following his absence through injury, lost to last year’s finalist, Djokovic, 6-4 6-1. Djokovic will now play Roger Federer, who overcame last year’s champion Andy Murray 6-2 7-6, in the final.
Nadal, despite losing, was pleased with his comeback progress and is hoping for further improvement in the run-up to the US Open which starts on August 31st.
