On Saturday evening, National Police officers in Granada arrested a man who was wandering the streets threatening pedestrians with a gun and a large knife.
When the police officers arrived on the scene, the man, a 51 year old, threatened them with the gun, but was then persuaded to alter his attitude, after which he was arrested. In his belt at the time of his detention was a knife with a 19 cm blade.
The action all took place in Plaza Jarama, near to avenida de Dílar.
The man has a prior history of arrests, twenty-three in fact, the last one being for robbery with violence and threatening behaviour. Following this latest arrest, the man has been charged with possible violent crimes, illegal possession of weapons and assaulting a police officer.
