The two occupants of a light aircraft died today after crashing in a residencial area of Pilar de la Horadada in Alicante.
The pilot, a Spanish national, and his passenger, a 76 year old British national, are believed to have been flying low in order to take photographs when the aircraft clipped a pine tree and plunged to earth on a plot of land in urbanisation Pinar de Campoverde.
The pilot was killed on impact, the passenger died three hours later in the Hospital General in Alicante. The plane was a Aeroprat A 22 weighing just 425 kilos and classed as an ultralight.
