One of the items on the Council agenda for tomorrow’s extraordinary plenary session is a motion to approve a motion to carry out the transfer of plots of land to the Junta de Andalucía for the building of the new Health Centre.
The lands in question, totalling 5,000 square metres, are in the Cuesta del Ingenio area, namely behind the Mercadona supermarket, and the Council has made zoning agreements with the five owners of these plots.
Work on a new roundabout to serve the Health Centre has already begun and it is hoped that development work on the facility itself can start in October. Seven years late, after two earlier sites were rejected by the regional authorities and a disagreement over financing also caused a long delay, but at least things are moving now.
Also on the agenda for Monday’s meeting is a PP motion to extend the length of ‘ordinary’ Council meetings by two hours so that they start at 09:00 and finish at 15:00. As the PP has an absolute majority, one cannot see this motion failing! Six hours is a lot, though!
