The new multipurpose centre in Torrox, located at the Conejito roundabout, is finally open and in use after a decade of contruction work.
The €4 million project has had to overcome numerous difficulties and delays during the past ten years and the Council still owes €500,000 to Perfersán S. L.
The building is 2,400 square metres in total, 600 square metres on each of its four floors. It houses the Tourist Office, a library and various municipal offices. The third floor is destined to be used for TDT digital terrestrial television facilities, a project which is being carried out in conjunction with Nerja and should start some time in September.
An official inauguration ceremony will take place in the near future.
