The blueprint for the proposed water treatment plant in Nerja has been on public display, as required by law, and has attracted three complaints from residents and owners of adjacent properties.
The Agencia Andaluza del Agua (Andalucian Water Agency) is now studying these complaints and working to resolve the issues raised.
The authorities remain confident that this €37 million project, delayed for several decades, can be put out to tender by the end of this year and that work can actually start at some stage next year. However, another pending item, essential before any building work can start, is the environmental impact study and its approval by the Ministry of Environment.
