The Councilor for Infrastructure, Alberto Tomé, has reported that the installation of several new raised pedestrian crossings is now complete.
The idea of these raised crossings is to moderate the speed of traffic as well as to provide a suitable crossing point for pedestrians and thus improve road safety.
Crossings have so far been completed in Avenida de la Constitución, Burriana beach, the access road to the Mercadona supermarket and one near El Chaparil school.
The project cost €25,000 and was financed through FEIL. The Council is working on plans to install more of this type of crossing in other parts of the town.
