The regional government delegate in Málaga, María Gámez, has signed an agreement with the Mayor of Colmenar, Pedro Fernández, for the construction of a mortuary.
The project has a budget of €800,000 and a completion period of 12 months. The new building will consist of two fully equipped mortuary rooms and two ‘locales’, most likely a florist and a cafeteria.
María Gámez remarked, almost pointedly, that the signing of the agreement is another example of the Andalucian government’s commitment to collaborate with any of the municipalities of the province, a commitment that is reinforced ‘when we have the close cooperation of the mayors’.
The Mayor of Colmenar took the opportunity to thank the Junta de Andalucía for not only this project, but also the construction of an indoor sports pavillion and the Museo de la Miel (Honey Museum).
