Two people have been arrested and five others charged with offences against the public health in two separate incidents involving the cultivation of marijuana in Isla Mayor, Sevilla.
When Guardia Civil and Local Police officers went to inspect a house and attached warehouse, they discovered over 2,000 kilos of hashish and a few marijuana plants. The two occupants, one of whom has a long criminal record, were arrested.
The police then decided to check on a number of homes and annexes where, in the past, marijuana was known to have been grown. The result was five more people charged with crimes against the public health and the seizure of 16 pot plants.
