Renovations in calle Ramón y Cajal and calle Juan Ramón Jiménez

The Councilor for Infrastructure, José Alberto Tomé, has been continuing his programme of meeting with residents of streets affected by upcoming building or renovation works, this time talking to residents in calle Ramón y Cajal and calle Juan Ramón Jiménez.

The budget for the reurbanisation of these streets is €380,000, financed through FEIL, and the planned completion period is five months.

The project will be a comprehensive renovation as, for example, calle Juan Ramón Jiménez doesn’t even have a pavement. To comply with accessibility regulations, the street will end up with two pavements (hopefully one either side) and will be one-way for road traffic.

One of the suggestions proposed by local residents was the installation of underground rubbish containers. This is apparently a difficult task due to the harshness of the terrain but the Council stated that tests will be carried out on the ground once the works get underway.
