The King and Queen of Spain, Don Juan Carlos and Doña Sofía, are in Sevilla today to inaugurate several new facilities in the area.
The first stop is La Rinconada and the inauguration of new facilities operated by the Comunidad de Regantes in the lower Guadalquivir valley.
After that, it’s on to the Abengoa Solar Platform in Sanlúcar La Mayor for the official inauguration of the PS20 solar tower. This 20 megawatt plant will provide sufficient clean energy to power to 10,000 homes and will reduce CO2 emissions by 12,000 tons.
The royal trip will end with a visit to the Campus Palmas Altas, a €100 million investment by the company Abengoa which will house around 3,000 people, 1,900 of whom work for the Andalucian multinational.
