A total of 74 people have been arrested and another 61 charged following an extensive nationwide investigation into child pornography.
Six hundred officers from the Technology Brigade of the National Police have been involved in Operation Ruleta and the investigation has covered thirty provinces in Spain.
Over 2,500 internet connections were analysed and 180 people who used, distributed or produced pornographic material were identified.
Police seized 323 hard drives, 20 CPU’s, 31 laptops, 54 storage devices, 7 VHS tapes, 3 cameras, 1 mobile phone, 1,587 CDs and DVDs, and various documents and photographs relating to paedophilia. The material seized included incidents of child sex and the abuse of very young children.
Amongst those arrested was a producer of pornographic films, his subjects including his own thirteen year old niece. The detainees are from all walks of life.
