Guardia Civil officers this afternoon rescued four Algerians from their half submerged boat about 39 miles southeast of Cabo de Gata, Almería.
A passing merchant spotted the small boat, barely above water, with the four occupants dressed in orange life jackets and waving their arms to attract attention.
The four passengers were taken to the port of Almería where Red Cross officials were on hand to offer medical assistance. All were reported to be in good health.
