The Councilor for Festivities, José Miguel García, has described this year’s feria as ‘short but intense’, deeming it a great success.
The Councillor stated that the shorter duration of the feria, four days instead of the usual five or six, was not a whim but due to the continued financial crisis which is affecting both institutions and households. He added that, despite the cut in budget for this year’s event (as well as being shorter!), they managed to provide a full schedule of events and acticities for all age groups and for visitors and residents alike.
José Miguel García remarked that the tents and attractions had witnessed more visitors than have been seen for many a year.
Why can’t local celebrations be kept out of the party political sphere, everyone working together for the sake of the community?
