An Italian national, a resident of Barcelona, was arrested today near Baza, Granada, after being clocked at 218 kph on the A-92N.
The car, a Mazda, was first spotted at km 55 on the road to Gaudix and Guardia Civil officers, having clocked the speed at 218 kph, radioed the details of the vehicle to other patrols who then intercepted the Italian speedster.
He was charged with an offence against road safety, namely exceeding the speed limit in the area (120 kph) by more than 80 kph.
