The roadworks on the Balcón de Europa look like this today.
At least the green covering has been removed to allow the patrons of the cafes some sort of view through the chain fence!
The businesses are suffering a drop in trade and will attempt to obtain compensation but they are not holding out much hope of that actually happening. The roadworks will continue until at least Christmas but attempts to get the workmen to commit to a completion time, even the month, have proved fruitless. Situation normal.
The original completion period was four months, but we all know how that goes! Once completed, though, it will be an almost immediate start on the rest of the street and Plaza Cavana with the whole lot to be completed ‘before the summer’. Heard that one before, too! El Chucho immediately springs to mind, not to mention the car park. So we won’t.
