According to the National Institute for Statistics, unemployment in Spain fell by 14,100 in the third quarter when compared to the second quarter.
Total unemployment in Spain now stands at 4,123,300 or 17.93% of the workforce.
In Andalucía, third quarter unemployment fell by 4,300 to 994,400 or 25.64% of the workforce. Although the government is endeavouring to put a positive spin on these figures, the unemployment rate is the highest since 2001 when using comparable figures or 1998 if using non-comparable figures. The rate in the fourth quarter of 1998 was 17.99%.
