Iberia has cancelled 430 flights on both Monday and Tuesday as a result of a strike by the cabin crew Unions Sitcpla and the CTA.
Of 1,000 daily flights planned, 360 domestic and 70 international are being cancelled, the worst hit airports being Madrid-Barajas and Barcelona-El Prat. More than thirty routes from Madrid-Barajas airport to major European cities such as Lisbon, Paris, London, Brussels, Amsterdam and Frankfurt have been cancelled, as have intercontinental flights to New York, Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires.
The airports in Andalucía will see 42 flights cancelled each day, most being to other domestic airports. Vueling Iberia, Air Nostrum and other sister companies are not affected by the strike.
Iberia is trying to minimise the disruption and inconvenience to passengers who have booked flights on these days and is relaxing regulations so that passengers with tickets for affected flights may request changes in flight dates or request refunds.
If you are travelling with Iberia airlines, particularly on domestic routes, on Monday or Tuesday then you would be advised to check schedules.
