The Council is considering ceding a plot of land for use by the Almijara Bowling Club where, in the future, national and international tournaments could be held.
The bowling club was only formed fairly recently and has been supported and assisted by the Councillor for Foreign Residents, Emma Hall.
The club currently has 61 members, mostly British, but hopes to attract more Spaniards to the game in the near future. It is thought that, as it would be the only centre on the Eastern Costa del Sol, it is likely to attract thousands of players.
The new site, if approved, would be a 3,000 metre plot in the UE 19 area, near to urbanisation Algarrobo.
